Jennifer + Casey actually got married on the east coast with Jennifer’s dad who wasn’t doing well heath wise. But, they had their wedding celebration with friends & family on & beside their steamboat, “Banjo”, in Seattle. I LOVED that they wanted to incorporate their boat (I mean, who just casually has a freakin steamboat??).
Even though we got a cloudy day (in Seattle…who would guess haha), it was still such a magical day. Jennifer + Casey wanted to include some of the more traditional wedding elements so they had their first dance on top of their steamboat. They also asked both of their sisters to give speeches. Plus, they shared their vows in front of everyone gathered on the side of Lake Washington.
Their vows were absolutely beautiful & meaningful. This was the first day I met Jennifer + Casey but I felt so inspired by & connect to them because of the wonderful way they loved each other. I don’t think there was a dry eye around, to be honest. Seeing the support & happiness these two give each other made this day unforgettable.
If you’re thinking about having an intimate wedding day, Jennifer + Casey kind of nailed It & gave you a great model for it. It actually worked out perfectly because friends of theirs host a summer party every year so Jennifer + Casey were able to celebrate their union fairly short notice. Most of their friends were already planning on attending the summer party & the extra details were easy to figure out to make their celebration happen!
Overall, steamboat wedding celebrations in Seattle are always a good idea. Their photos were so special because it included their boat, an element that no other wedding photos will have.

I didn’t have an intimate wedding, but if I did, I would want it to be on the side of Lake Washington, with my first dance on the top of a boat.
